Chupacabra Videos
From LoveToKnow Paranormal
Since the September 2009 announcement of yet another captured Chupacabra, searches for Chupacabra videos have spiked on the Internet. Listed below, you'll find some of the most provocative footage available. View each video and decide for yourself if the people behind these tapes genuinely believe they have evidence of the legendary "goat sucker" or if they are just more hoaxers looking to pull a fast one on the public.
An Elusive Cryptid
Although reports of the Chupacabra border on the fantastic, that doesn't rule out the fact that there may be an animal roaming the southwest that has yet to be formally identified and cataloged. The study of such animals falls within the field of crytozoology, and today's legend could one day become tomorrow's next zoo exhibit. So far, all cryptozoologists have to go on are eye witness accounts, videos, drawings and a few DNA samples that so far have proven to be mainly from mange-ridden coyotes. So, the search continues as sightings of the creature multiply.
A Collection of Chupacabra Videos
There are hundreds of Chupacabra videos to sort through on the Internet, but those listed here are likely the most worthwhile for your viewing. View these with a critical eye and decide what you believe.
- El Chupacabra Legend? - This first video is a compilation of possible images of the animal. A few will give you pause for thought, while others are clearly various deceased animals that only look odd due to their state of decomposition. A few are obviously fakes, but the video is still interesting enough to be worth the 1:03 minutes it will take to watch it.
- Police Video of Supposed Chupacabra - This is definitely one of the more fascinating videos, and the fact that it comes from a police car cam gives it a bit more credibility. Watch carefully for when the beast turns its head to the side to briefly look back at the vehicle chasing it. Have you ever seen anything that looks like the head on this animal, and if you have, would you expect to find it in Texas?
- Animal Planet TV - This next video appears to be a promotional teaser for a program featured on Animal Planet. It examines some of the legends and hypotheses surrounding this cryptid and also shows clips from other videos as well as drawings based on descriptions from "eye witnesses".
- Texas News Report - This news report from Coleman, Texas covers the story of a farmer who believes he has captured the legendary beast. Apparently something had been killing his chickens and turkeys, so the farmer set a trap and subsequently caught the animal featured in the video. According to the report, the beast appears to be a mix between a hairless dog, a rat and a kangaroo, giving rise to speculation that El Chupacabra is the result of genetic experimentation. However, the reporter does not mention how that finding was reached, so the observations are most likely based on viewing the carcass rather than any significant DNA testing.
Most Recent Video
This final video is the latest offering in the Chupacabra saga, and it is the clearest look yet at what a number of people consider to be the elusive cryptid. Taxidermist Jerry Ayer of Blanco, Texas presents a strange animal that came to him via Lynn Butler, a former student at his taxidermy school. The animal was discovered after Butler set out poison to get rid of a strange animal that had been disturbing his barn at night. After finding the dead beast, he was perplexed about what it might be, and asked Ayer to take a look at it and offer an opinion. According to Ayer, who has stuffed a number of coyotes, the creature is not a coyote at all. In fact, Ayer said he has never seen anything like it before. Once the video went public, people immediately began calling the beast a Chupcabra. Although Ayer does not make that claim himself, he doesn't really care what people call the creature. He is allowing DNA samples to be analyzed by two Texas and California universities and awaits the outcome of those tests. In the meantime, he plans to stuff the animal and display it at the school.
Take a look at the animal in the video and try to identify it yourself.
Do any of these videos really provide indisputable proof of this cryptid's existence? Probably not, but that doesn't appear to make a difference to the true believers who swear they have seen one. Just as with the legend and thousands of sightings of the creature commonly known as Bigfoot, people will continue to believe the largely anecdotal evidence that the "goat sucker" really does roam the southwest drinking the blood of its victims. Assuredly, something is draining the blood from those farm animals, but as yet, no one truly knows what that is. For the time being, Chupacabra videos will continue to amuse and captivate the public unless and until solid evidence is gathered.
