Edgar Cayce Predictions

From LoveToKnow Paranormal

Edgar Cayce predictions are still fascinating to this day. This man, known as the "sleeping prophet," would go into a self-induced trance to make medical diagnoses and foretell future events.

Cayce did readings while under hypnosis.

About Edgar Cayce

Edgar Cayce was born on March 18, 1877 in Hopkinsville, Kentucky. Cayce had an eighth-grade education, something that was not unusual for a young man from a working-class family at the time.

Cayce developed a severe case of laryngitis in March of 1900, and almost completely lost the ability to speak. A traveling hypnotist came to the area and attempted to heal Cayce using hypnosis. Cayce's voice was restored while he was in a trance, but disappeared whenever he woke up.

A local hypnotist named Al Layne took over Cayce's treatments when the first hypnotist had to leave town to resume his tour. During a session, Cayce was asked to describe his own condition and the appropriate cure. Cayce did so, but referred to himself as "we" instead of "I".

Cayce diagnosed himself as being unable to speak due to a psychological problem, and recommended that the blood flow to the voice box be increased. Layne made the hypnotic suggestion that this take place. Cayce's face became flushed, and his chest area turned red. This "treatment" went on for 20 minutes, after which Cayce stated that it was done. When Cayce was brought out of his trance, his voice had returned to normal.

Cayce the Healer

Cayce soon started offering readings for local people, on the condition that he not be paid for this service. It wasn't necessary for Cayce to even meet his patients; he was able to diagnose physical ailments and mental illnesses with amazing accuracy. Cayce could work from a letter, written by the patient, that included the person's name and location.

In time, Cayce asked for donations so that he could support his family while practicing full time. He continued to do readings until his death, from a stroke, on January 3, 1945.

Edgar Cayce Predictions: Pole Shifts, Atlantis, and More

Edgar Cayce predictions include many topics. Here are some examples.

Pole Shifts

  • The western part of America will break up.
  • Japan will be lost to the sea.
  • The upper part of Europe will be changed very suddenly, as in "the blink of an eye".
  • Land will appear off the coast of America.
  • The poles will shift so that the present poles will become more tropical.

Cayce predicted that these events would take place between 1958 and 1998.

Atlantis Rises

Edgar Cayce also predicted that Atlantis would rise again in 1968 or 1969. That hasn't taken place, but the Bimini Road was discovered on September 2, 1969. The Bimini Road is a rock formation discovered off the coast of North Bimini Island, in the Bahamas.

The Road is made up of limestone rocks that are rectangular or square in shape. Some of the rocks measure between 10 and 15 feet in length, and are positioned in a rectangular pattern. Some people who have studied the finding have suggested that the rocks resemble a man-made roadway that runs parallel to the coast. Could this be evidence that Atlantis actually existed at one time?

Changes to World Geography

Cayce also made other predictions about the world's geography changing:

  • New lands will appear in the Pacific and Atlantic oceans.
  • New York State's east coast or New York City itself will disappear.
  • Water from the Great Lakes will empty into the Gulf of Mexico, as opposed to the St. Lawrence Seaway.

No psychic is 100 percent reliable in his or her predictions, and it would appear that Edgar Cayce is the same. Only time will tell whether any of the other events he foretold will happen.
