Edgar Cayce Prophecies
From LoveToKnow Paranormal
When considering prophetic visions of the future, it is difficult to ignore Edgar Cayce prophecies. Like Nostradamus and other prophets before him, Edgar Cayce prophecies withstand the test of time with many of his prophecies coming true.
Who Was Edgar Cayce?
An American prophet and psychic, Edgar Cayce lived at the height of the spiritualist revival movement. He was born in 1877 in Kentucky and only had a ninth grade education. In 1900, Cayce was suffering a long-lasting and debilitating bout of laryngitis, and sought treatment from a traveling stage hypnotist. While in the trance state, Cayce discovered that he could obtain accurate diagnostic and healing information about many subjects.
Cayce began diagnosing and treating local townspeople, and his fame started to grow because of the effectiveness of his treatments. The only information he needed was the person’s name and location. Soon, people from around the world were seeking diagnosis and treatment from Cayce.
Eventually, Cayce was convinced to give psychic readings on philosophical subjects. These were done in a trance state as well.
Ultimately, Cayce became a professional psychic who founded institutions that would carry on his work after his death.

The Edgar Cayce Prophecies
The Edgar Cayce predictions can be divided up into two parts – those that have already occurred, and those that have yet to occur.
Already Occurred
- The stock market crash and Great Depression - In 1924, Cayce predicted that the markets would crash after a long bull run. He taught his clients how to prepare for this eventuality. Cayce also predicted that the Depression would ease up in the spring of 1933. That is exactly what happened.
- The rise and fall of Hitler - Cayce’s 1934 prediction of Hitler’s rise to power and reign over Germany came true.
- America’s entry into WWII - In July of 1939, Cayce revealed what he referred to as "The American Destiny" in 1941.
- The deaths of Franklin Roosevelt and John Kennedy - Edgar Cayce made this prediction in 1939. He predicted that two presidents would die in office; one during a time of great civil unrest. Kennedy was killed at the beginning of the Civil Rights Movement.
- The collapse of the Soviet Union and communism - According to this statement made by Cayce found at Near-Death.com, "Through Russia comes the hope of the world". However, he explained that the hope was not communism, but freedom. He concluded this prediction on Russian with, "It will take years for it to be crystallized; yet out of Russia comes again the hope of the world". In 1991, the Soviet Union abandoned communism.
- The day of his death - On January 1, 1945, Cayce said that he would be buried in four days. He was. It was his final prophecy.
Visions that Have Yet to Come True
- The year of the second coming of Christ. He predicted that it would be in 1998.
- A new field of science will be developed around psychic and spiritual phenomenon.
- It will be discovered that a solar system revolves around Arcturus and the Pleiades.
- World War III is possible, arising from strife near the Davis Straits.
- There will be three profound archeological discoveries that change the way we view the origins of man.
- China will become a Christian nation.
- The West Coast of America will be destroyed.
- The global melting of polar caps will cause the level of the oceans to rise significantly.
- There will be tremendous Earth changes, particularly in America, but a new era of peace and enlightenment will follow those changes.
Other Interesting Prophets
Edgar Cayce isn’t the only person (or thing!) to make prophecies for the future.
- Nostradamus made many predictions that seem to be supported by history. His prophetic visions extended into the year 2012.
- The Web Bot Project is a prophet for the information age. A computer program that analyzes keywords and the words surrounding them, the Web Bot Project has been remarkably accurate in predicting market trends. Many feel that the Web Bot project has predicted significant events in recent history as well including Hurricane Katrina and the events of September 11, 2001. Like Nostradamus and the Mayan calendar, the Web Bot Project predicts a world-wide calamity in the year 2012.
The Nature of Prophecies
The nature of prophecies, including those of Edgar Cayce, Nostradamus and the Web Bot Project, is that they are usually stated in vague or confusing language that seem far more significant after the fact. It is easy to look at something someone has said in hindsight and make it match current events. While Edgar Cayce appears to be accurate in his prophecies, if you read the language of them, it is difficult to pinpoint exact events that will occur. It is the nature of prophecy to be non-specific, and many of Cayce’s prophecies were no different in this way.
Could it be that in a trance state, Edgar Cayce had a magic mirror into the future? Many believe that he did. It’s up to you to decide. Share your opinion in the comments area below.
