The Evidence of a Scary Video

Even if a video captures something as simple as an object moving on its own or an apparition appearing out of thin air, that video represents solid proof that something very real and physical took place. Even though a scary clip of a ghost may not explain where the phenomenon comes from, it proves that the event is not just in your own imagination. However, such videos are also very scary to people because they challenge what many people are taught in school and by their parents - that there's no such thing as ghosts or goblins.

Many people aren't prepared for the psychological impact that's involved when you're faced with the reality that the things you feared most as a child could actually be true. As children get older, they learn to "self-talk" in order to comfort themselves when there's a shadow moving in the corner of the room or a tapping on the ceiling. Older children tell themselves that there's a perfectly reasonable explanation - the shadow is just the cat, and the tapping is just the wind. In scanning videos from witnesses, the following characteristics can provide a litmus test regarding whether or not the video is authentic or a hoax.

The activity in the video is subtle. This means that when a chair moves, it moves slowly or almost imperceptibly. When an apparition forms, it's usually extremely faint and blends in well with the background. Usually people need to view the video several times before noticing the anomaly. This is a sign of an authentic scary video.
There's no sudden transition in activity. Many hoaxers create scary clips that are designed with a peaceful beginning, and then a figure jumps out at the camera. These videos are meant to poke fun at paranormal investigators. However, videos with authentic phenomenon often transition to frames that contain ghostly activity so gently that most people completely miss it the first time they watch the video.
The most common authentic activity captured on video is usually objects moving, electronic voices captured in the audio, very faint "smoky" apparitions taking shape in a dark room, faint shapes in windows or doorways, shadow apparitions moving across doorways or hallways, and sometimes actual objects dropping on the floor or even objects flying across a room.
People in the video act normal. There's usually a purpose for the video. It may be a birthday party or some other event. If it appears that the videographer is taking the video for no apparent reason, then the reason is likely only to trick people into thinking that the video has real evidence of ghosts.

The following examples represent some of the best videos on the Internet that offer proof that ghosts and apparitions are real.

This video comes from Otherworld Northeast, a paranormal research organization that set up the video in the allegedly haunted basement of the Literary and Philosophical Society in Newcastle upon Tyne. The recorder picked up a whole array of strange noises while no one was in the immediate area.
This impressive footage displays an apparition taking shape in the lower left corner of the video before fading as it travels across the room. This scary video forces you to wonder whether those moving shadows in your room when you were a kid were really just shadows after all?
The Bodmin Jail, in Bodmin, Cornwall, was the scene of this scary video. As the investigative team decides to leave and the cameraman absentmindedly walks around with his camera left running, he inadvertently captures the clear video of a priest of some sort (complete with white tunic) standing inside one of the cells and watching the group walk by.
This video was captured as part of an investigation, and the apparition that hobbles toward the camera and off to the right is obviously partially transparent. This video clip is very spooky.
